Our 16th Year Anniversary

On January 17th, 2009, we opened the doors to our GBP Estates office at 35 Victoria Road, during what many would consider a challenging time. 16 years later, GBP Estates is a trusted name in property.

It was definitely a challenging time, but we didn’t see it that way. We both had a lot of experience in the property market, and we knew that with the right approach, we could provide something different. We wanted to offer a more personal, hands-on service to our clients. The market might have been tough, but we saw it as an opportunity to make a real difference for people looking to buy, sell, or let. We believed that property is more than just business—it’s about building relationships, trust, and offering exceptional service.

It was definitely tough at first. We had to work hard to build up our reputation and prove ourselves. But, because we were so passionate about what we were doing, it didn’t feel like work. We spent a lot of time building relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing advice they could trust. We also really focused on the community—getting involved locally helped us connect with people and establish ourselves as a go-to agency in Romford. Slowly but surely, word of mouth spread, and we started seeing the fruits of our labour.

We grew not just in size, but in our expertise. When we started, it was just the two of us. Now, we have a fantastic team that shares our passion and commitment to our clients. We have expanded our services too—initially, it was all about sales, but over the years, we have grown our lettings and property management side of the business as well as our commercial, Land and Development department. Our clients trust us to manage every aspect of their property needs, and that’s something of which we are really proud.

The property market is always evolving, and it’s important to stay adaptable. We stayed strong through Covid with video viewings for sales and lettings which was very successful. We have invested a lot in technology and training to make sure we are offering the best tools and advice. We also pride ourselves on staying in touch with the local market and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and legislation. But, above all, our focus has always been on providing a personal service.

Myself and Gary want to say a huge thank you to all of our clients, both past and present, for trusting us with their property needs over the years. We have built lasting relationships with so many people, and that’s what makes our work so rewarding. We are here for you, now and in the future, and we look forward to continuing to serve the Romford community for many more years to come.

If you would like to come and say hello on Friday 17th - pop in at our office. Parking at front. We would love to see you.

Here's to 2025 and beyond - from Julie and Gary
